HTML Goodies (sidebar tutorial)
http://www.htmlgoodies.com/tutors/sideline.html
Adding a stripe down the left side of a web page not only spruces
up an otherwise bland page, but it allows you to put some
information in an area that can remain familiar from page to page.
To learn how to do this in a very down and dirty or strictly nuts
and bolts approach, I went to www.htmlgoodies.com. Though the
tutorial I went to specifically covered the process to actually
make the image of the stripe, I did notice a link to a tutorial
about actually placing the side-stripe image on a page.
Creating the image requires a graphics application, the tutorial
provides a link where users can download a trial version of
PaintShop Pro. The first word of warning involves image size.
This tutorial gave me enough information in a few minutes to put
save the sample gif image to my c-drive and create the following HTML:
Using samples and providing links to actual pages using the tutorial
examples makes this tutorial and all other tutorials on this site
exceptional. Learning how to actually "DO" HTML using this site can
be easy as pie or a piece of cake, it's no wonder why it is named
htmlGOODIES.com.

Paulo Freire, Ph.D. , Personal Vita :
http://www-distance.syr.edu/pvitapf.html
Paulo Freire was born to Joaquin Temistocles Freire and Edeltrudes
Freire Snows on September 19, 1921. On May 2, 1997, Paulo Freire
died of a heart attack in Rio de Janeiro. He was 75 years old.
Though he may be known as the most influential thinker of the
twentieth century, Paulo Freire had a very meager beginning in life.
His father Joaquin, died when Paulo was thirteen years old. Paulo
became a grammar teacher while still in High school. Three of five
of his own children themselves became educators. Paulo himself
married an elementary school teacher named Elza Maia Costa de
Oliveira. Paulo's dedication to education is impressive, considering
in his early years Paulos' mother taught him to read by drawing letters
and pictures in their dirt yard. Paulo later went on to earn honorary
degrees from twenty-seven universities and a doctoral degree in 1959
from the University of Recife.
Paulo combined his passion for education with a passion to help the
less fortunate in this world. Paulo credits his passion for the less
fortunate on the reversal of fortune his family suffered. One of
Paulo Freire's books "Pedagogy of the Oppressed," is one of the most
quoted educational texts today.
Humble student, accomplished educator, and compassionate individual,
Paulo achieved much but possibly the biggest achievement is that he
succeeded yet never lost sight of where he came from. Truly a
remarkable individual and an amazing innovator.

Reading Blueprints :
http://www.stevekeller.com/steve/pdf_files/Construction/Reading%20Blueprints.PDF
These PDF pages, 6 to be exact, are perhaps the best solution for those who wish
to attain a high level overview understanding of blueprint or more appropriately,
architectural drawing reading. The instruction is given from the perspective of
a Building Security Manager.
The tutorial begins covers many aspects of what Blueprints and Architectural
Drawings are and continues through examples of symbols and terminology, where you
are directed to recommended reference materials. Ultimately the text will discuss
what a complete set of drawings might consist of and gives specific examples of them.
Though the tutorial is geared more toward a Security Manager viewpoint, the content
is relevant to anyone who needs to understand the language of Blueprints.
Terminology such as: "Architectural Working Drawings," "Preliminary Drawings,"
"Presentation Drawings," and "Working Drawings," are all discussed.
The author of the tutorial continues to offer suggestions to help the user gain a
better understanding through recommended reference material.
Finally in the case of Betty, this tutorial discusses the page numbering scheme and
gives a few examples of what the numbers and the preceding letters mean. In general,
Betty should learn enough about reading blueprints from this tutorial and some of the
recommended reading material to do her job very effectively.
